All the Pretty Little Horses in Pink Ribbons

Image

Feminists squeeze the life out of breast-cancer awareness.

Apparently, calls for rejoicing were a few moments too soon.  About a twenty-four hour period, too soon, to be exact.  It took less than a full day for the venom coated, teeth baring to ensue.  How swiftly they ran, tails between their legs, whimpering all the way home!  Wildly ironic is the commitment to empowering and educating women.  Banners and ribbons, t-shirts and key chains all proclaim the “I am women, hear me roar!” motif.  Yet, Susan G. Komen has bowed to political pressure.

Where there seemed to be a glimpse of rationality, common sense went up in a puff of pink smoke.

I’ve long been cynical about little pink ribbons that adorn everything from golf balls to port-a-potties.  What began as a worthy cause, has been trampled upon, recycled and spewed forth as a campaign for feminism and abortion rights.  Soft pink used to adorn the cradles of newborn, little girls.  Pink then progressed to a sweet, simple message for all women who have been touched by breast cancer.  Today, they’ve been high-jacked by extreme, liberal, feminists who claim their rights to murder anyone under a moment old.  Cross the poisonous political lines they’ve carefully candy coated, and they will wipe your name out of existence.  Thus, when the charity had a moment of clear thinking – “Maybe, our campaign for promoting the lives of women is conflicting with Planned Parenthood’s commitment to killing babies (half are little women) isn’t quite cohesive,” the rabid, feministas came out ready to eviscerate Susan G. Komen.

Picture the Wicked Witch of the West to the doe-eyed Dorothy, “I’ll get you my pretty!  And your little DOG too!”

Screw individual convictions!  Empowerment of women? Yup, trash that too!

“They’ve breached the exit out of the dungeon!  Guards!  Quick!  Release the wolves!”

Oh, the wolves attacked and poor, spineless, little Susan retreated.  That sad, white flag was unpacked and raised – after only 24 hours.  In case you didn’t even get the NEWS in that amount of time.  The Susan G. Komen foundation, the premier charity for breast cancer awareness and fundraising (or used to be, once upon a time) finally decided to break ties and cut Planned Parenthood loose from their organization.  Planned Parenthood, the ruse organization that claims to provide health options for women all the while cashing in on their latest crop (human children in uteuro), was accepting hundreds of thousands in funds raised by the charity.  Just a day ago, Komen, cited, scientific support that links abortion with breast cancer, as reason for dropping the death mongers.

Morality and a sense of decency were abandoned at the inception of Planned Parenthood, but it seems now they hate science, too.

Go figure.

So what happens when a spoiled child gets their favorite pink lollypop taken away? They throw a tantrum, curse and spit, and make loaded threats!

I guess little Susie actually did shake in her little pink laced boots.  So, before the sun set on all the pretty little horses and Susie got her toys all taken away, she recanted and put Planned Parenthood back in good standing.

“No more growling, PLEASE!!!  We can’t HANDLE anymore of your senseless, mindless saber-rattling!”

All is well again in Nursery land of all the widdle girls.  Cue the lullabies…

COME ON!  Is that all it takes??  Some loose-cannon, liberal bloggers who use language that would embarrass a sailor? Are you KIDDING me??  What ever happened to “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me!”?

I hate to say it, but Susan G. Komen, MAN UP for crying out loud!

So. Let me get this straight….

Margaret Sanger, proponent of eugenics.

Just pondering the idiocy that is the left-wing agenda.  The sheer absurdity boggles the mind and causes the wheels in my head to run positively wild, threatening self-combustion.  Yes, I know, for some politically correct liberals, that would be the equivalent of my Christmas, your “Happy Holidays.”

So, I figured I would make a list of some of the most ridiculous notions that are currently creeping across the globe.  Spain’s recent announcement that it is mandating unlimited abortions for pregnancies up to 14 weeks, has spurred on this latest mental explosion.  So…Let me get this straight:

Females should be given “women’s rights,” but only if their birth isn’t trumped…by…another…woman’s right…??

Minorities should have equal opportunities, but again, only if their birth isn’t first decided against by a “woman’s right.”

A forest is considered “life,” while a cluster of human cells that, when allowed to continue to birth form a baby, are not.

Responsibly spanking a child is deplorable, yet killing the child, before one’s subjective determination that it is a “life,” is perfectly acceptable.

We should scream for a woman’s right to choose to end the life of a baby and scream for the rights of an animal.

We should save the planet, but eliminate unwanted children.

Animal testing is unethical…and so is mandating an ultrasound prior to an abortion.

Passing out condoms in school is “safe sex” education, but because of youth, immaturity, and inexperience, we should raise the age when getting a driver’s license.

Abstinence education doesn’t work, but pulling sugary beverages out of school vending machines is promoting healthy habits. Kids can’t make responsible choices in what to drink and eat, but they are perfectly capable of having sex responsibly.

We should save the whales, but toss an unwanted, underdeveloped baby in the trash.

Its more dangerous to allow an after school bible study than to require a teenager’s parental permission for an abortion.

Teaching  evolution is scientific, while creationism is offensive, as is prayer in school and before a courthouse session.

Eugenics is a disgusting practice, but abortion has nothing to do with that.  (We don’t want people to know that Margaret Sanger was a proponent and supporter of ethnic cleansing.)

People are going to abort anyway.  Better to allow lawful safe, medical abortions than “back alley, coat hanger” abortions.  Killing the baby is the goal, not the mother.

Michael Vick is a detestable killer.  Margaret Sanger is the saint matriarch of women. (of course, except to the little women in uteuro.)

It takes, on average, 9 months to a few years to adopt a child, but 15 to 20 minutes to end the life to that “unwanted” baby.  (We should forget that there are people out there who desperately want a child.)

Basically people are given to their natural instincts; they should be able to have sex whenever they want.  We shouldn’t let a child interrupt their lives.  (But we should convince people that we must have legal abortion for the small percentage of tragic cases of rape and the health of the mother.)

Allowing a baby to live, whether one keeps him or gives him up for adoption, is wrought with heartache and lifelong committment.  But the emotional distress of an abortion is short-term and a woman can move forward with her life.

All clear?

An Ad of Inconvenience

Somber music and muted colors set the tone.  We are introduced to three women.  The first is wistful and worried.  The second, a mom, looks haggard and worn, pushing a stroller with an infant and grasping after an energetic toddler.  Finally, we see a young woman, pensive and concerned at a coffee shop.  We know nothing about any of them, but the tagline, giving us their name adding “is late.”  We are prompted to feel sorrow for them.  Finally, the narrator’s voice offers “help” from Marie Stopes International.

“Who is Marie Stopes International?” A pro-abortion, UK-based group who operates in 17 countries.  One might say it’s the Planned Parenthood of the United Kingdom, although this organization, unlike Planned Parenthood claims to be a non-for-profit.  Even so, the disturbing fact is that abortion rakes in cash, dollars and pounds. “In the 2007–08 Annual Report, [Planned Parenthood] income totaled $374.7 million and miscellaneous operating revenues $68.9 million.” (Wikipedia, http://www.ask.com/wiki/Planned_Parenthood) Let me do the math for you on that one: That’s $443.6 million!  Marie Stopes International 2008 financial statement reports giving net income for the year of £11,209,000. (http://www.mariestopes.org/documents/publications/MSI-Financial-statements-2008.pdf)  Again, let me save you time and plug-in the conversion.  £11,209,000 as of today, May 24, 2010 is the equivalent of $16,116,748.91.

Here’s the ad:

“Terminating unwanted pregnancies,” aka ending the life of a defenseless child, is a booming business that brings in millions.  Who wants the hassle and interruption of a baby when there are so many other things going on in life?  Big problem, easy solution.  While Planned Parenthood and Marie Stopes cling, white-knuckled, to their claim that they are offering “options” to women, they sure aren’t complaining about the cash in hand.

Marie Stopes International (MSI) proclaims this on their website:

Our services in 2009 will prevent:

If you have a moment, read through that again.  Did you catch a couple of inconsistencies?  First, they claim to prevent 2.6 million unsafe abortions.  While it doesn’t go beyond my knowledge that they are speaking about the abortion procedure (as opposed to “wire hanger/back alley abortions), the term “safe” abortion would be laughable if it weren’t so cruel.  I believe that the point of an abortion, is to make an unsafe environment for the baby, expelling it from the mother’s body.  The second ridiculous notion in their goals for 2009 is that they will prevent 517,000 under-five and 372,000 infant mortalities, yet they boast 9.3 million intended baby mortalities…WHAT?!  That’s about the most absurd statement with the most blatantly obvious, true intentions!  Further, MSI states, “Marie Stopes International’s mission is to enable people to have children by choice not chance. The charity’s goal is the prevention of unwanted births.” (Emphasis added) (http://www.mariestopes.org/documents/publications/MSI-Financial-statements-2008.pdf) I guess at least their honest…

This whole advertisement got the wheels in my head turning and I envisioned another type of ad, one that pro-death advocates pass off, a situation that I have found myself, to a limited degree in, and one in which I have dear friends who have faced.  If I were to challenge this ad and create a counter-attack, it might look like this…

Her hands tremble as she waits.  Still dripping, she lays the plastic tube on the countertop and looks away.  Silently she prays, closing her eyes trying to patiently wait.  She folds her hands, wringing them while they shake.  After a couple of minutes, she sneaks a peek and closes her eyes again.  She looks again, picks up the test and drops her head.  The tears have long run dry.  Her shoulders droop another half an inch.  She sucks in a breath only to sigh as she meets her husband, who eagerly awaits her on the edge of the bed.  He takes one look at her and immediately knows how little hope there actually is.  The doctor has already told them, this is probably their last hope.  Her body can’t take much more and the bank account has withered under the pressure of enormous medical bills.  They put all their eggs in one basket, no pun intended or wanted.  This was it.  Their last shot at having a child of their own.  All of their friends are busy with their own beautiful, wide-eyed babies.  They really have little desire to go out.  Every visit to the store or dinner out is an emotional event, what with the surrounding couples, cooing over pink or blue donned car seats.  But, maybe, just maybe, there is a little one out there who needs them, just as much as they need him or her.  Maybe it’s true, that there is a bundle out there to fill their longing, empty arms….

(Cue narrator offering help…)
